EDITOR: My goodness. Can't people
just read something positive and good into the names of sports teams
once in a while?
Regarding the controversy over the
Tomales High mascot (the Braves) being racist, what
about the Cowboys, Titans, Celtics or the 49ers? I don't hear about any
sports teams named the Wussies or the Crybabies. Teams are named after
people or things that are brave, courageous and victorious.
If there was a team called the
40-Something Broads, I'd love it and wouldn't be offended. Heck -- I'd
even have front-row season tickets.
