EDITOR: I feel sorry for you,
Joanna Louie, being brought up in such a politically correct climate. Mascots
are not generally animals. At my high school, we were called the
Spartans. There are the Vikings, The Fighting Irish, Knickerbockers, the
Packers, the Buccaneers. These all have something in common. They are
fierce competitors.
And that is the reason teams have
been called the Braves, the Warriors and the Chiefs. A team wants to
have a mascot that shows they have courage, not to
degrade themselves.
